Cynthia MacLeod ”crackerjack”

　今回万博の仕事で共演したヴァイオリンのシンシアと一緒のホテルに泊まっていて、最終日にちょっとみんなでホテルでお茶をしたのだが、その際にシンシアから彼女のリリースしたCD「crackerjack」(米口語。日本語で「優秀な、ぴかいち、一流のといった意味）をいただいた。(サインもしてもらった。)
　帰宅して早速聴いてみたのだが、クラシックのヴァイオリンとは違う、カントリー風のどこか懐かしい音楽はとても楽しかった。万博では無伴奏で演奏していたが、このCDではバンドを従えて演奏している。
　収録曲は全部で13曲。一曲目の「Sheldon MacNeil's Reel」(「古風な酔っぱらった女主人」という注釈がついている)がお気に入りだ。他にも「テネシーワルツ」などが収録されている。(この曲だけボーカル入り。)
　せっかくCDをプレゼントされたので、僕も彼女に「Natural Earth」(私のファーストアルバム)を送ってあげようと思う。シンシアは赤毛のアンの故郷であるカナダ・プリンスエドワード島に住んでいるようだ。
　シンシアに聞いたら、名古屋から二日間かけてプリンスエドワード島に帰るらしい。東京に行って、バンクーバー経由だそうだ。プリンスエドワード島は遠いんだなぁ・・・。僕もいつか行ってみたい。
　彼女がこのブログを見るかもしれないので、今日だけ拙い私の英訳を添えてみました。(友人にもアドバイスしてもらいました。)ブロークンイングリッシュなのはご愛敬。

I worked at EXPO AICHI 2005 JAPAN with Cynthia MacLeod. And she stayed at the same hotel that we stayed. On the last day we had a tea break at the hotel. Cynthia gave me a CD "crackerjack" that Cynthia released. She signed her autograph on the CD.
I came home and listened the CD at once. Her style of playing violin is different from classical music style. But that is country style, and her music makes me feel nostalgic and happy.
I felt a longing for. She played the violin without an accompaniment at EXPO AICHI but on the CD she plays the violin with a band.
The CD "crackerjack" has 13 tracks. My favorite music is "Sheldon MacNeil's Reel" on the 1st track. The CD also records the Tennessee Waltze. Only the Tennessee Waltz is recorded with vocal.
I will send a my 1st CD "Natural Earth" to her. Perhaps she lives at Prince Edward Island. Prince Edwad Island is Anne's birthplace.
Cynthia said it takes 2 days to come back her home. First, she goes to Tokyo and goes to Prince Edwad Island via Vancouver. I think Prince Edwad Island is so far. I want to go to Prince Edward Island someday.
